Rapid Site Rescue & Recovery

Migrated and rebuilt four failing WordPress sites under high-pressure conditions, liberating the client from a predatory host and unstable infrastructure.

The Crisis: Held Hostage by Hosting

When a business loses control of its digital presence, it loses its voice. For CEDA, the situation was critical. Their four primary revenue-generating sites were trapped in a restrictive hosting environment managed by a third party that refused to release the keys.

Updates were impossible. Security was opaque. And when the relationship with the provider broke down, the entire digital estate of the business - and its revenue stream - was at risk of being turned off overnight.

The Scope

This wasn’t a single landing page. It was a complex ecosystem of four distinct medical and service-based platforms:

The Rescue: Calm Execution Under Fire

The brief was simple but high-stakes: Get us out. Keep us online.

I treated this as a strategic extraction operation. The goal wasn’t just to copy the sites; it was to rebuild the infrastructure so that the client would never be in this position again.

1. The Migration Strategy

I had no access to the back-end, only WPAdmin. Direct database access was blocked, so standard migration tools were useless. I scraped the front-end data and reconstructed the site architecture on a fresh, clean hosting environment that the client owned 100%.

2. Stripping the Bloat

The original sites were weighed down by years of accumulated plugin debt and builder-bloat. Instead of migrating the problems, I rebuilt the core themes using a lightweight, custom WordPress framework.

3. Zero-Downtime Cutover

In a medical business, trust is everything. A broken link or a “Site Not Found” error can cost a patient’s trust. I coordinated the DNS switchover to ensure that as the old servers were cut off, the new independent servers picked up the traffic instantly.

The Outcome: Independence

The immediate result was safety. The threats from the previous provider no longer mattered because the data was secure on servers CEDA controlled.

But the long-term impact was far greater. By moving to a clean, custom architecture, the internal team gained the ability to edit content, manage bookings, and update services without paying a “developer tax” for every minor change.

“He didn’t just fix the immediate issue; he empowered our team with the tools to manage our online presence effectively for the future. A truly reliable partner who provides clarity when it’s needed most.”

The crisis became an opportunity. CEDA didn’t just survive the hostage situation; they came out of it with a faster, safer, and more scalable digital estate.
